One hint to new players: You might think that you drag the cards with your finger tip, but that's too hard to manage, you can't see the card your finger is on, and your hand obstructs half the screen. And the animations help you see the effects your moves are having on the playfield. Solebon's graphics are lovely, but readable even when you have all the cards on-screen. On a screen as small as the iPhone's, it's very hard to display a full deck of cards (or two!) and have them be readable and manipulable with your finger. These aspects of Solebon are not just style/taste decisions, that you may or may not like. In particular, the card faces are designed to be highly readable, and the animation effects are as smooth as anything I've seen on the iPhone. I'm delighted that their taste and style has transitioned so well to the iPhone's touch screen. I have been playing Smallware's Solavant Solitaire for years, it's a wonderful implementation of "hard" solitaire games, that emphasises clarity and smooth, graceful animation over flashy, distracting graphics or effects. ![]() If you ever enjoy Solitaire, you will love this app.īeautifully executed for the small touch screen star star star star starĪlderete's Review of Solebon Solitaire Reviewed on 11/14/17 3:58 AM Some depend more on luck, while others more on your skill. There are enough levels of difficulty to engage anyone's interest. There is a nice variety of games-I have my favorites, but sometimes like to learn a new one. After a while, I get stuck, frustrated, or just plain bored. I still play it almost every day! I've downloaded, played and deleted MANY other games-including the most popular ones. After checking out the multitude of apps, just wanted this version! So I deleted it and downloaded it again. It recently started freezing up on me, so I toyed with the idea of trying a different Solitaire. If I do a power down of my iPad, that fixes it, but that's a pain! I don't want to give up on my favorite app in the world! Help! It plays just fine, but sometimes when I open it, the screen is non-responsive. Maybe I don’t need to do that anymore, but why take a chance? I try to remember to put my iPad in portrait orientation before I open the app. This one is a classic that just keeps enduring. ![]() Still play this every day!!! I can’t begin to count the games that I’ve downloaded, played for several months, then deleted. Sharla Kay's Review of Solebon Solitaire Reviewed on 11/9/17 2:22 AMįourth post. If you like solitaire, there’s nothing better. This bundle is unmatched, and just gets better and better. I’ve already fallen in love with several new games because I now understand. There revmany games available that I never try more than once or twice because I just don’t understand sufficiently. Now they have a BIG new feature: How to Win. One important innovation turned up about a year ago: no longer can you lose a winning streak because of an unintended button push!! That was huge and so timely because I had recently lost a streak of more than 700 in just that way. Then Demon, Scorpion, Klondike, Freecell, etc. I've been with it from the start and it continues to evolve in creative and convenient direction Whenever I have a free minute or to go to sleep I turn to Solebon, some times for hours. Justina Hayden's Review of Solebon Solitaire Reviewed on 12/17/17 11:12 PM OK I get it it's a great app it does more than possible when other people could even think of yada yada yada. I don't think it's possible to improve this anymore and this app is complete please stop upgrading it and changing it and asking for more compliments. But like last time, I recommend with no hesitation. Still have my minor complaint about not knowing if my last game broke a record. I am enjoying playing ever since the latest upgrades. the screen goes dim and you just can't see if you did. One complaint is sometimes I think I broke a high score and I'd like to be able to see whether or not I did. I have use this for years and I guess my only complaints are relatively minor Please stop asking me to tell everybody how great this app is. Otherwise there is not a Solitaire app in the store that comes close to this for ease of use and making a Solitaire interesting. The most annoying thing about this app or the ONLY annoying thing about this app is it constant desire for reassurance at the App Store for reviews.
